Dakar - Freetown 01/10/69
Hot,humid Flight approx 1000 mlsHad good breakfast of bread,marmalade,coffee.
Arrived Dakar airport at 09:30; flight departed at 11:00. Arrived Freetown Lugi airport at 12:10. Bus and ferry to Paramount Hotel,Freetown where Roda collected us in Corona car. Had beer in Roda's shop then rolls and chips upstairs.
Visited Shakib Basra (lawyer) who had arranged Guma Valley Survey with Tom Hope for us. Also met another cousin who was in I.D.M. and promised us he could arrange a trip to S.L.S.T.
Had superb Lebonnese meal with Roda (cooked by his wife) and then Hassib showed us Freetown at night. Had 3 beers. Also met Mo's photographer friend whom we are seeing tomorrow.
Met some Americans on the plane who are studying at Fourah Bay College for one year. They were from Detroit.
