Rough night in L/R. Travelled to Bailen,Granada,Malaga,Algeciras..Camped behind a cafe on a very sandy pitch. Chris was ill again with tummy trouble.
Todays travel was very good passing over two main mountain passes (Valdenepas - Bailen and Granada - Malaga) which provided excellent scenery. Olive groves in abundance and nut trees stretching out right across the valleys and up the hills. We ate well - meat, cheese, bread, ONIONS, vino and cake for lunch; stew, potatoes and vino for supper.
The villages were all poor and the people appeared to live a very simple life living off the land. Gave a small boy some barley sugars at Loja when he asked for " una pesata Senor". Had a beer at Torremolinas. The Mediterranean coast seems very commercialised and not the true Spain at all.Just like any other seaside resort out to attract the tourists, except that perhaps the sun is more likely to shine than at British holiday resorts.
