Visit to Marampa Iron Mine 09/10/69
Weather: cool Distance 160 miles
Visit to Marampa - DelCo iron mines (opencast). Adib took us in Hassib's Peugeot 404. Arrived 50 minutes late and we were very embarassed as a very comprehensive tour had been arranged commencing from 10:00. An excellent lunch. Mr Patrick Lawrence showed us around ( the P.R.O. - Public Relations Officer). Also met Mr Karl Weilacher ( Plant Manager), Frank Barley, Tony Tomlinson, Mr Valentine (Principle of the Training School).
Returned to Freetown by 18:00. Khalid Karnera visited us. Had new pair of trainers very good fit and good material. Also with Roda and chatted afterwards.
S.L.TV closed down in the middle of the Invaders due to a fault. Film to be shown tomorrow and closed at 21:00. So there was really plenty of time to rectify the fault tonight
