Arrived Dieppe 4:00am. Drove to Paris feeling very tired hungry and dirty after sleeping under a life boat on the ferry.
Steering had become progressively worse and we went straight to Landrover Main Agent 144 Rue de Cardinet to get new steering relay box. Tried to get box off in the road but failed; got garage mechanic and after reassembly found it had been a loose arm on the spline.
Chris and Mo got visa for Mauritania.
Drove to camp site in Paris but it was full, then to Versailles where we pitched camp at 10:00pm in rain. Put new points in fuel pump
French people very helpful and pleasant and language not a real barrier to communication.
Paris (what little I saw of it) was full of little cars and tired old buildings, few modern buildings in the main streets.
